Is it getting HOT in here?

Associated Press - The temperature in March this year was the warmest March on record according to a global temperature analysis by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.  The average temperature over the world’s landmasses was 40.8 F which is 3.2 degrees warmer than the average March in the 20th century.

WCI Update

The Western Climate Initiative, is a group that includes California, Arizona, Utah, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington as well as Canadian provinces Manitoba and British Columbia.

The group, is expected to introduce a cap-and-trade system by this month. That has financial players drooling over a new carbon trading platform for a region that has 63 million people and a GDP of $2.9-trillion.

Environmentalists hope the WCI initiative will spur the U.S. government to act. Both the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives are considering bills that would establish a national cap-and-trade system, but neither is expected to pass before the November election.
